Tons of cool software updates in last week

  • JetBrains ReSharper 2.5 – my favorite VS enhancement. I have been using it from early EAPs and it’s definitely better and even cooler than 2.0. Upgrade if you use it or give it a try if you don’t. I bet you a beer you’ll miss it when your evaluation key expires!
  • MyGeneration 1.2 – my code generation cool of choice. I dumped CodeSmith for this freebie and never looked back. If it continues to develop with this rate, CodeSmith will be in trouble soon.
  • PowerShell Community Extension – haven’t played with those yet, but they look tasty. Can’t wait to give them a spin.
  • XNA Game Studio Express – Vista and Xbox game writing SDK and IDE. I probably won’t be using this, but it makes me happy just knowing that it’s out there!

Nice find. I'm curious about ReSharper. Can you share your experience with this Product and tell us, if it is worth buying it?

I can only say great things about ReSharper. The best way to start appreciating it would be to see someone use it in action. Since I think we live quite near we can get together for a beer and I show you some sweet moves... ;)

Hey David,

Any particular reason for dumping CodeSmith for MyGeneration? Note that I am a pro CodeSmith guy. :-)

One reason is price. I really like free software. Despite it's price myGeneration is well supported it has nice community. Oh, and dOOdads is also nice!
