I’m not much of a gamer. But Pro Evolution Soccer is easily most played game in our house. PS2 version that is. We played couple of games after work the other day and coworker Igor kicked my but with style. I still have to score against him. To lick my wounds I treated myself to a game against AI tonight.

I the middle of the game after I ruined couple of good changes I got an idea for a KILLER feature in sport simulation games:

Replay a situation. Not instant replay, but “give me another chance for last situation” replay.

So, let’s say your are in great chance in front of a keeper but the defense cuts off your pass to the right. Just then your realize that on your left there was a guy all alone. You use this new feature – rewind five seconds back – and try what would happen if you passed the other way. Feature should be optional or maybe goals scored in rewinds should count towards the final result. That would be really cool way to learn moves and study what’s the best move for a certain situation!

Is there a game that has this? Can I patent that and get seriously rich after someone manages to realize this in PES 7/8/9?

Note to myself: I you want to ever beat Igor, play more through passes and stop pretending this is real football and start exploiting holes in the game.

Well, you know... practice makes perfect :D It wasn't that bad... you hit one crossbar. Joke, I just had a little more luck.
