The other day I was talking with a friend, how PowerShell is not all that great and how it is administrators tool, but not so much developer tool. Wheter we were right or wrong is not that important, but it's a fact that it's god damn hard to get started with PowerShell or find a suitable problem for which PowerShell is the right tool to solve.

We'll, today I found one and solved it in 60 seconds (with Google's help, of course).

(Get-ChildItem 'X:\My Music\Za spečt' -Filter *.p2p -Recurse).Count

This baby counts the number of p2p files in certain folder and subfolders. Sweet!

Lowdown: I sync freshest part of my music collection between home, work and portable computers using excellent FolderShare and this let's me know how far behind certain machine is.
