I'm really impatient to get the Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 and start working with them so I tried to download them from MSDN on my home computer. I got an error. This is the first time I'm downloading anything from Microsoft MSDN as a partner. I remember Mare talking about issues with the site and excellent live chat support from Microsoft. So I started support chat on MSDN and within seconds polite person from Redmond gave me some hints what I should try. And she didn't forget "hello" and "goodbye" and "come back if you still have errors". I removed and reinstalled Microsoft File Transfer Manager and the problems went away. 10 plus points for Microsoft for live support!

I instantly remembered how we developers usually think of our customers as someone who doesn't have a clue, press buttons they shouldn’t just to annoy and irritate us. Harsh insults are not unusual. I'll try to pictures the tech support girl from Microsoft next time any of our customers piss me of. I'll try to put a smile on your face and cut them some slack. If Microsoft can do that, so can we.
