I finally got ADSL and I like it a lot! It's 20x faster than dial-up so I can really feel it. I wonder how long it will take before I start looking at higher speeds...

It had to make couple of calls in order to speed up things. It looks like priority with Telekom technicians is determined by number of calls you make. Sad.

you mean you were on a dialup until now?
but it's not really only about the speed, also about the availability and more possibilities. kinda like using a water well vs. "regular" water installation. :)
i think it'll take about 5-6 months before you start looking at higher speeds.
btw, why did u choose adsl over cable? location (un)availability?

Yes, I was on dial-up all this time!

Sure it's not all about that speed. Totally true. But I didn't miss always on so much because a) I spend most of my time at work b) I have a collocated server that runs all my projects and other stuff that needs 24/7 network access.

ADSL over Cable is easy. I can easily move ADSL to anywhere I'll live next, but with cable you are at least bound to same provider. And I will move in a year or so...

I too think you'll upgrade in about 6 months time. 2Mbit works great for me thou. Welcome to the club. ;)
