Free copy of Windows 7 Ultimate

I was pleasantly surprised today, when I found out I’m eligible for free copy of Windows 7 Ultimate as a beta tester.

Although I didn’t report any bugs, I was granted a retail license key and a download of x86 and x64 version of Windows 7.

That’s just great! Thank you, Microsoft!

After installing Windows 7 of my wife’s laptop and couple machine at work, I’m more than convinced that Microsoft did few things right and Windows 7 will be a great system for years to come. I’ll repave my main home machine in couple of days.

How were you notified? I participated in the Beta program and received no notice of a free Win7! I signed into http://connect.microsoft.com/ using the same Hotmail account that I used to sign up for TechNet and the Beta program, but there's nothing in there about any activity / participation in the Win7 beta program. All I see is a mention that I registered some ancient Visual Studio .NET Express Edition downloads.

Vista sucked so even if they were giving it away free I wouldnt waste my time. Vista convinced me that there is better OS's out there.

I've only had to call Microsoft once to revalidate my license (this was after several hardware changes, including an entirely new motherboard). All I had to say was, "Yeah, I had to install a new motherboard" and it was validated without any further questioning.

I have been a Tester of Windows 7 the Release Candidate version since October 2009, and have been very, very, impressed with Windows 7 the Ultimate Version. Could I please get a Free Copy of Windows 7 the Ultimate Version, or Windows 7 the Professional Version. This operating system is very impressive compared to Windows Vista. It is very easy to manipulate in and is very user friendly. I have not had any issues with Windows 7 the Ultimate Release Candidate Version.
