I took some time and figured out why my new skin behaved badly in IE6.
It turns out, it's not skins fault, but my content. Some of my articles contain wide pictures or block quotes (evidence A, B and C) which stretch the skin so it breaks. The lowest resolution that is plays nice is 1280 wide. It even breaks with 1024 pixels wide, which is still popular.
Since there are many article with this kind of content, I decided to stick with the old skin for now and figure something out.
The skin is still rather nice and maybe somebody will like it, so I uploaded it to SubText Skins showcase site. That's my second one there and the first had quite a success. It had more that 100 downloads and boasts a five star rating. Even more importantly it's one of the default skins for blogs on Geek with blogs site.
