How to change Windows Live ID

If you are using MSN Messenger / Windows Live Messenger there is a good chance that your sign-in email is some crazy old email address you haven't been using for years. I know mine is. It would be very cool, simple and professional if I could have my one and only email used for this too. If I could only change my e-mail address...

I got my hopes quite high when I saw posts that say you can do that under your account settings. But when read further you arrive at dark corner where most people will stop, sit down and give up.

You cannot change your Windows Live ID if your ID is hotmail.com or msn.com email.

Darn.

U MAY HAVE TROUBLE CHANGING IT. THAT IS BECAUSE MICRO$OFT MAKES IT SO U CAN ONLY CHANGE IT IF YOU GO TO THE WEBSITE USING INTERNET EXPLORER. ANY OTHER BROWSER DOES NOT HAVE ALL THE NEEDED OPTIONS. that means all you Apple users (like me) are SOL. better have a friend or go to the library

Try using mozilla firefox with a IE plugin to make it act like IE.
