In case you missed it – there is now official Google.si site. This is different from “Google slovenščina” as this is “Google slovenia”. It’s not only about Google interface in Slovenian language, now Google can search only Slovenian site and this is a direct blow for Najdi.si. How long can they hold on? Year and a half ago I predicted this.
Users coming to http://google.com are now redirected to http://google.si, which in theory is a good thing. But there is one bad thing. There always is. There is no “Personalised home” or “Search History” in the upper right corner. Huh?
This bothers me a lot, so now I visit http://www.google.com/intl/en/. The other solution is to put English/US to the top of your languages list in browser. But this can mess up other sites you might prefer in “slovenščina”.
Luckily Google too thinks I’m important!
